You are in a room with other people.

You are the new one there.

You like the people around you.

Once in while someone walks up to a button on the wall and presses it.

The other people laugh and applaude the courage.

There are no rules attached to it, no procedure.

Everyone is allowed to press the button.

Will you walk up to the button and press it?

No, not unless I am convinced of the ethicality & moral good of whatever consequence results from pushing the button.

You are always prepared for all, aren’t you

      July 08, 2014
      1. shadow-storm

There is too much I don’t know to act without reason
Preparation can be helpful more often than not

        July 08, 2014
        1. yayuki

ok, at this point there is no more information given, asking the people will not offer any insight … The button might do something or not. No way to figure out.

          1. shadow-storm

I will wait and observe then

            July 08, 2014
            1. yayuki

              ok, absolutely reasonable… me too

              July 08, 2014
  2. iabundance

I will know first what the button is for before I push it.

    July 08, 2014
    1. yayuki

Alright, but there is no way to figure out, the people either don’t know or don’t tell… It might do something or nothing.

      July 08, 2014
  3. wirelessguru1

Well, what does pressing the button do besides make the people laugh?

    July 08, 2014
    1. yayuki

All information is given, you can’t find out what it does, or even if it does something… It might just be a decoration. It might be a feature. It might be important or completely pointless.

      July 08, 2014
      1. wirelessguru1

        Not really!
Also, there is no need for courage to press some lousy button!

        July 08, 2014
        1. yayuki

ok, if you think so, why not push?

          July 08, 2014
          1. wirelessguru1

Because I would like to know first where the damn button is connected to!

            July 08, 2014
            1. yayuki

where? the wall – what .. who knows… So you don’t push at all? Under no circumstance you can think up?

              July 08, 2014
            2. wirelessguru1

Well, then no wonder you’re clueless since you don’t know. LOL!!!

              July 08, 2014
            3. wirelessguru1

Either case, I would first cut the wires and then I would push your stupid lousy button – since I’m wireless… LOL!!!

              July 08, 2014
            4. wirelessguru1

I bet you didn’t think of that possibility.

              July 08, 2014
            5. yayuki

are you sure… you would really do that in a house that ain’t yours, with people around you don’t know that can react any possible way,
Who said there are any wires at all?
              Oh I did

              July 08, 2014
            6. wirelessguru1

Look, the people are irrelevant. I will not arbitrarily press buttons if I don’t know what they do!

              July 08, 2014
  4. peacefulthinking

do we make decisions for accolades, I do not push the button.

    July 08, 2014
    1. yayuki

ok. Just keep in mind the button might be just for decoration and do absolutely nothing, it might do something or it might do something of importance… people either don’t know or don’t tell… All possibilities open.

      July 08, 2014
      1. wirelessguru1

So you are now saying that the damn button does absolutely nothing!

        July 08, 2014
        1. yayuki

I’m saying it is impossible to find out whether the button does something or not!

          July 08, 2014
          1. wirelessguru1

Well, I would check where the damn button is connected to!

            July 08, 2014
            1. yayuki

hmhm, will leave you as curious as before, no chance to find out!

              July 08, 2014
            2. wirelessguru1

Of course there is a chance to find out.
              Follow the wires, etc, etc…

              July 08, 2014
      2. peacefulthinking

I err on the side of causion rather than what seems to be the popular

        July 08, 2014
        1. yayuki

ok… that is great to be so strong… I couldn’t help it I would try every possible way to figure out and pushing it myself would be a possibility so I’d push at least once to find out

          July 08, 2014
          1. peacefulthinking

the problem with that is you did not learn from the rest of them. By observing what happened after each one pushed it you should then already know some of the results. Futility and conditioning to do the same as others is not wisdom

            July 08, 2014
            1. yayuki

              ok…

              July 08, 2014
            2. yayuki

wouldn’t you be curious why they press it again if it does nothing?

              July 08, 2014
          2. peacefulthinking

mice do that, we are to observe and make decisions accordingly. Curiosity killed the cat and made people look stupid on tv

            July 08, 2014
            1. yayuki

hehe – I have a hard job here lol btw the second and third are up already…

              July 08, 2014
  5. GoldenPig2012

    Eventually, but not first.

    July 08, 2014
    1. yayuki

      me too

      July 08, 2014
  6. johnnygreybeard

Seems logical to talk to everyone you can and ask all the questions they do not know the answer to, then make a decision.
No, I would like to say. Unless I were really in the position, how would I know for sure?
    This is puzzling to me???

    July 08, 2014
    1. yayuki

It can be a difficult decision. Perhaps this may help… Reasons to push or not push

      July 08, 2014
      1. johnnygreybeard

Yes-Like the old Benjamin Franklin closing technique…
It is still no dear..Hahahaha I am so not cool, but safe

        July 08, 2014
        1. yayuki

          ok, noted

          July 08, 2014
  7. yayuki

I have to add my choice… I’d wait, observe, ask around and then I’d push because no matter what it may be the only way to know what it does, the push.

    July 08, 2014
    1. wirelessguru1

That’s nonsense. To know what the button does one must follow the wires, take down the damn wall, etc…

      July 08, 2014
      1. yayuki

So you would push the third one? Why should there be wires?

        July 08, 2014
        1. wirelessguru1

          What third one?
Either case, so now your button is wireless! LOL!!!

          July 08, 2014
          1. yayuki

            hehe the third post… LOL

            July 08, 2014
            1. wirelessguru1

              What third post!?

              July 08, 2014

      July 08, 2014
  9. pastormike

okay.. so I’m a fool. sure i would.

    July 09, 2014
    1. yayuki

      July 09, 2014
      1. pastormike

I have never been afraid of the unknown.. and I"m proud of that. no fear..

        July 09, 2014
        1. yayuki

a good thing I think… Would you press the follow up buttons, too? Most of the folks around won’t press, or so they say… Who knows, they might change their opinion …

          July 09, 2014
  10. kachinablue

There’s always excitement in adventure… I’d press the hell out of that button. #staytruthful

    July 10, 2014
