will you press the button (second)? Please read the first and answer the first for yourself or in comment before reading and answering this one

thought model / thought experient:

If you stick to the rules and answer truthfully you might be surprised about yourself ...

This is the second of four, enjoy!

You are in a room with other people.

You know some of the people, some of the people you know not.

You like the atmosphere and most of the people around you.

Once in while someone walks up to a button on the wall and presses it.

The people you know laugh and applaude the push and the fun.

The people you don't know laugh and applaude, you are not sure why you don't know them, you assume probably for fun.

Everyone is allowed to press the button.

Will you walk up to the button and press it?

Same button, so what’s the difference?

read and compare and use your awesome brain to figure out…

          1. wirelessguru1

Again, same button, so no need to read any further. Can you grasp that?
            The people are irrelevant.

ok, so that people you know press the button doesn’t change your choice to not do it… noted

Again, people are irrelevant. Knowledge is what’s important.

I AM not that much influenced by people, even if I know them.
I AM an independent thinker and doer.
So you tell Me what the button does or I will go find out what it does…

No. Until I know what pressing the button does, popular reaction is insufficient impetus to act as cause for an unknown effect.

    July 08, 2014
    1. yayuki

Hm, not the least bit curious about what the button does? Maybe I am doing this wrong

      July 08, 2014
      1. wirelessguru1

Of course you’re doing this wrong since you lack the knowledge. LOL!!!

        July 08, 2014
        1. yayuki

good thing one can enjoy it either way LOL

          July 08, 2014
      2. shadow-storm

I am curious, but what if their reaction is because there are implants triggered by a signal from pressing the button? I don’t have enough information to make a decision that is considerate of possible detriment or hidden factors. You’re probably doing this quite as it’s intended, I’ve learned to be very cautious regarding peer or group influence on decision making.

alright… Intersting you love scyfy thoughts lol great one implants eh… can’t hurt you though right you don’t have one lmao… or maybe you do? Who knows… Because in real life nobody knows… that is good… I wouldn’t hit this button either…

(Even after I know what the button does, its effect is my deciding factor, not the reaction of the group.)

          1. yayuki

So would you, did you push the third?

            July 08, 2014
  3. peacefulthinking

still observing . I see no relevant purpose in doing something that someone else did. Pushing the button being fun? Would be mind numbing, like people watching a sitcom.

    July 08, 2014
    1. yayuki

alright, so you don’t push this one either?

      July 08, 2014
      1. peacefulthinking

hahaha nor the next, it does not seem to serve a purpose other than entertain the peanut gallery

        July 08, 2014
        1. yayuki

maybe it could entertain you as well? You’ll never know until you’ve pushed it.

  4. yayuki

    Maybe.

Are you saying you might push the button here?

      July 08, 2014
      1. yayuki

I can think of two or three possible scenes in this room that I wouldn’t be sure if I wouldn’t push it so I can’t say yes or no to this

        July 08, 2014
      2. wirelessguru1

        He/she can’t make up his/her mind…

        July 08, 2014
        1. yayuki

Can you really think of no possible situation that could play out in this room involving the people in this room and the room itself without changing it … in which you would press it? honestly?

          July 08, 2014
          1. wirelessguru1

            Nope.

            July 08, 2014
            1. yayuki

ok then what about the next buttons?

How does one ignore a button? Can one ignore something that can’t feel ignored? Questions, questions everywhere

if the button can feel ignored it can feel other things as well… why are we wondering about the mindset of objects in my thought model? It will just confuse people looking for hints…. buttons have no gender or feelings! Just fun!!!!

            1. wirelessguru1

Because I’m screwing up your silly though model.
